“This event to me prioritizes focusing on the younger generation,” says Bradford County Dairy Princess Sophia Tice. “Often times as we try to establish healthy habits in our life. It is important to start young. It is a lot harder to start healthy habits and healthy lifestyles when you are older, so reaching the younger generation and promoting for me personally drinking milk and consuming dairy products to people at a young age is very important and that’s what this event means to me.”

“It’s been a lot of fun to experience the kids learning about the Olympics. These are sixth graders, and they have had a little bit of experience with their families watching it but not as much as I had growing up,” Lucy Chamberlain explained. “One of the kids yesterday said that their dad was watching curling, and they didn’t know that sport, so it’s been nice to watch them learn about new things that they’ve never heard about before.”

Members entered both a landscape project and a window display to be judged. Their landscape, following the “Focal Point” theme with 1776 undertones, placed 5th out of the 9 landscapes at the show. Canton FFA’s landscape painted a rustic picture, utilizing a Moldboard Jefferson plow and a Creole scythe from the 1800s as their focal point, surrounding it with a variety of plants and crafting a fence out of black locust wood.
