A Legacy of Medical Care Continues

by Sara Vogt - May 20, 2024

On December 10th, 1997, Evan’s parents, Dr. Robert C. Bair Jr and Mrs. Sharon Bair, celebrated his birth! Dr. Evan Bair is the son of Dr. Robert C Bair, Jr, and grandson of the late Dr. Robert Charles Bair.

Driven by a deep-rooted family legacy and an unwavering passion, Dr. Evan Bair has chosen to walk the path of medicine. His father, Dr. Robert C Bair, Jr, and late Grandfather, Dr. Robert Charles Bair, have left an indelible mark on their patients and the community. Inspired by their profound impact, Evan has dedicated himself to continuing this legacy, a testament to his unwavering commitment and passion for medicine.

Embarking on his academic journey at Juniata College in Huntington, PA, Evan laid the foundation for his future in medicine during his undergraduate years. This pivotal period honed his academic skills and nurtured his passion for patient care. With his undergraduate studies complete, Evan took the next step in his medical career by applying to and being accepted at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, a testament to his dedication and academic prowess.

Evan graduated from Juniata College in 2016, received his white coat in 2022 from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and graduated in May 2024.

The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage for medical students, created by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation in 1993. During the ceremony, a white coat is placed on each student’s shoulders, and the Hippocratic Oath is often recited, signifying thier entrance into the medical profession.

His next step in his medical career is to attend Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, for three years for his residency in Internal Medicine.

Evan enjoyed spending time with his Grandfather, who lived until he was 103 years old. On the broadcast, Evan expressed his desire to follow in his Grandfather’s footsteps and stressed his heartfelt desire to help others reach their full potential in what they are passionate about pursuing.

“We do not stop exercising because we grow old–we grow old because we stop exercising.” Dr. Kenneth Cooper’s quote sums up how Evan’s Grandfather lived his life. Dr. Bair kept walking and swimming regularly into his 90s.
