Exciting Summer Events at the Rialto Theatre!
The Rialto Theatre in Canton is gearing up for a fun and exciting summer vacation! While students and families are home and looking for something to occupy their time, the Rialto will be hosting the Summer Cinema Book Squad again this year, starting Teen Trivia Thursdays, and introducing Summer Matinee Thursdays!
The Summer Cinema Book Squad is for students who have completed 3rd through 6th grade. The first date will be Tuesday June 18th, with Roald Dahl’s “Matilda,” the second on Tuesday, July 16th, with “How To Eat Fried Worms” by Thomas Rockwell, and finally on Tuesday, August 13th, with “The Tale of Despereaux” by Kate DiCamillo. Every date will begin at 10 AM and conclude at 12:30 PM.
The exciting Teen Trivia Thursdays will cost $5 per team with a maximum of 6 members per team. Teens ages 13 – 18 are welcome to participate in the fun on Thursday nights from June 6th to August 8th, with a break for the 4th of July. Doors will open at 6:30, with trivia starting at 7 PM. Winners will receive movie passes!
Finally, the doors will open at 12:30 PM for the Rialto Theatre’s Summer Matinee Thursdays, with the movie beginning at 1 PM. Tickets are only $3, and these showings are sponsored by the Canton Nursing Foundation. The movie lineup will be as follows:
June 6th: “The Goonies”
June 13th: “Shrek”
June 20th: “Matilda”
July 11th: “Madagascar”
July 18th: “How to Eat Fried Worms”
July 25th: “The Muppet Movie”
August 1st: “The Lorax”
August 8th: “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial”
