35 Years of Caring For Pets & Their Families
Today, thirty-five years ago, Dr. John Weiner embarked on his journey in veterinary medicine, graduating from Iowa State University in their esteemed Veterinary program.
He is familiar with the area he returned to in 2002 because he initially lived in Elkland. After graduating from Elkland High School, he attended Juniata College and acquired a Bachelor of Science in Animal Bioscience.
In January 2002, he opened his Pleasant Valley Veterinary Care clinic at 102 S Buffalo Street in Elkland.
Before he pursued his choice of being a vet, he was on track to becoming a medical doctor. After serious consideration, he realized his passion and heart were for being a veterinarian. He enjoyed working with animals, and his relationship with the animals and their owners took on a deeper meaning as time went on in his practice. (For example, when there was a house fire, he took care of all the dogs in the family that needed care until the family could care for them.)
Today, Dr. John Weiner’s professional focus is on the comprehensive care of companion animals. His practice places a strong emphasis on preventive care, ensuring the long-term health and well-being of pets. Additionally, he specializes in laser surgery, a cutting-edge technique that minimizes pain and promotes faster recovery. This dedication to advanced, compassionate care is a hallmark of his practice.
