Due to inclement weather earlier in the week, the Wellsboro boys and girls basketball teams hosted a double header against Canton on Wednesday, January 17. The girls game started off slow, with both teams putting up a handful of shots in the first quarter. But both teams quickly picked up speed and drained three after three after three throughout the second half. The Lady Hornets kept the pressure on and held out for the win, claiming the first matchup of the doubleheader, 35-28.

Then the boys faced off. Canton took an early lead in the first quarter with some great ball movement. However, the Hornets shifted into overdrive and overtook their opponents 12-10 by the end of the first quarter. Wellsboro continued the onslaught, dominating the second quarter 26-13, the third quarter 42-17, and finally taking the senior night victory 51-18.
