THE WEEKLY BRIEFING – DRUG ABUSE RISES
Law enforcement is out there everyday combating unlawful drug activity in Tioga County. The District Attorney’s office, along with other supporting agencies, have decided to make community outreach a key part of this battle. This is where you come in. Yes, you can make a huge difference in the effort to defeat drug abuse in our community.

Today’s feature story brings light to a different side of Susquehanna Health – the spiritual side of the organization. Susquehanna Health is known for their great doctors, amazing staff and outstanding medical facilities. But did you know that Susquehanna Health is a faith-based organization? It’s their secret weapon when fighting sickness and disease.

CHAMBER HIGHLIGHTS – 2014 MIXER!
One of the most important roles of the Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce is to support and promote economic, cultural and recreational growth and opportunity.
The annual Chamber Member Mixer and Brochure Swap is one way for businesses to network and in return support and promote each other. This year marks the 7th annual Mixer and Brochure Swap. It will be held on Thursday, March 20th, from 5-7 p.m. at the Warehouse Theater located on Central Avenue in Wellsboro.

The benefit concert for Ashley will take place on Friday, March 21st at 7:00 PM in the Black Box Theater located in the Deane Center here in Wellsboro. Another way for you to support Ashley is to send her a note. Your words of encouragement will be read to Ashley by family and close friends. Maybe your children could make a card for Ashley? Your cards and letters will mean so much to her during this time of healing.

AN APPLE A DAY – NUTRITION MONTH
Jen Davis, RD, LDN – host of our special feature, An Apple a Day, spoke with us about improving our health by making one change at a time. She encouraged us to look at it as a new learning adventure. In this feature she focused on lowering our risk for heart disease. According to the American Heart Association, every 34 seconds someone in the United States has a heart attack.
