Dress Your Best At Dickens of a Christmas!

by Sara Vogt - October 27, 2023

Wellsboro will host their 39th Dickens of a Christmas on Saturday, December 2nd. Visitors spend the day on beautiful Main Street in Victorian time-period costumes with friends as vendors hawk their wares. The entire town gets into the festivities with traditional music and Christmas Carols as guests from all over the country join in the celebration! The Main Street Victorian Strolls are at 10:00 am and then again at 2:00 pm (immediately following The Best Dressed Showcase).

Home Page Vice-President Sara Vogt sat down with Christine A. Moore-Seidel of Christine A. Moore Millinery in the Home Page Studio for this broadcast. Christine, the designer and owner of Christine A. Moore Millinery, has professionally created hats for over twenty-five years. Once again, Christine A. Moore Millinery and the Home Page Network present The Best Dressed Showcase on December 2nd during Dickens of A Christmas!

2023 marks the 8th year of presenting The Best Dressed Showcase. Christine and Sara have enjoyed meeting those who have joined in for the fun and look forward to this year’s showcase. This event encourages those who participate to step back into the dress of the 1840’s.

Weather permitting, The Best Dressed Showcase will occur outside the Deane Center Lawn at 1:00 pm. (All participants registered for the showcase should come a little before 1:00 pm ) The showcase will conclude just before 2:00 pm, so all participants can stroll through town at 2:00 pm, letting others enjoy seeing how they have dressed their best!

If there is inclement weather, this free event will be held inside the Deane Center.

We prefer pre-registration, so if you are considering joining the fun this year, please email Sara@thehomepagenetwork.com to get the ball rolling! If you choose to pre-register, you’ll save time on the event day by coming directly to the Deane Center Lawn outside the stage just before 1:00. If you do not pre-register, then you need to go to the Deane Center to register on the event day from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

Come watch the Best Dressed Showcase; maybe you’ll join next year!

Last year, thirty-eight contestants stepped back in time to enter the contest. Three contestants were chosen to come in at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The first two won a hat from Christine A. Moore Millinery and baskets filled with gifts from local merchants. The third winner won a basket filled with gifts. To watch last year’s showcase, please click on the link below.
