In 1931, the U.S. post office was constructed on Waln Street in Wellsboro, PA. This building, which was built during The Great Depression, is also a severe weather location. The structure is now home to BakerTilly, a full-service accounting firm in Wellsboro.
Specific locations around the post office were used by postal inspectors to oversee the mail sorters to ensure their jobs were done correctly. Other historic features include a walk-in safe and framed Fortune magazines from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, which adorn the walls as business décor…
