The World Is But a Canvas of Imagination
Their birth of a vision began through barn restoration! When Jeff Thomas and Tania O’Donnell started restoring Jeff’s childhood barn, they began sensing how great this barn might be. They envisioned bringing professional artists/teachers and art students together. Now, in their third year and many workshops later, their dreams have become evident in all they do at the Red Barn Art Center. “We were just looking for ways to have art happen in the barn,” says Jeff.
Both Jeff and Tania still work in the Philadelphia area, so three-day-workshops are only held in the summer over weekends here in Wellsboro. The last workshop for this summer is this weekend: August 15, 16 and 17. The class is “en Plein Air” (meaning “in the open air,” for outdoor landscapes) with Ron Donoughe from Pittsburgh, PA. Ron is the founder of the Plein Air Painters of Western Pennsylvania and his works are collected by private individuals, corporations, and major institutions throughout the United States. To see his work you can go to www.donoughe.com.
To register for the class go to www.redbarnartscenter.com/summer-2014-in-wellsboro or call Red Barn Arts Center at 484-320-0219.
