Wellsboro “Odyssey of the Mind Team” Wins First Place
On Saturday, March 4 three Odyssey of the Mind teams from the Wellsboro Area School District went to Penn College in Williamsport to compete. The Rock L. Butler Middle School team took first place in the Regional Competition among six competitors. The participating students were assigned a “problem” to solve. The Rock L. Butler Middle School team received the challenge of creating a vehicle to find pirate treasure.
Many of the students expressed their enjoyment of the competition.
“You get to show people what you’ve been working on,” said Brynn Largey. “And all your hard work you’ve done for all of your practices.”
The Rock L. Butler team will go on to compete at the State Competition at Lockhaven on April 1 of this year.
