Wellsboro Hornets vs. Mansfield Tigers

by Joe Carreon - Janaury 7, 2014

The Wellsboro Hornets faced the Mansfield Tigers on Monday night, in what turned out to be a great game.

Both teams played with a great deal of energy from the onset. The Tigers and the Hornets traded buckets for much of the first quarter, sending an early message that neither team would back down easily. The Tigers showed the potency of their offense, going on quite a run to make the score close as the second quarter came to an end. Wellsboro responded with some tough shots to close out the half.

The Hornets came out of the locker room with a sense of urgency, and it was obvious they made some adjustments at halftime.

The Tigers, at the later part of the fourth quarter, became very opportunistic, trying to create scoring opportunities whenever possible.

Wellsboro finished the game strong and would not allow the Tigers an opportunity to get back in it. Wellsboro wins 67-55.
