The 2017 golf season starts on Thursday, August 17, and the Wellsboro Hornets team are ready to hit the links.

Coming off their best overall season record since 2013 (43-3-1) when they won the NTL, the Hornet golf team returns a roster loaded with all of last year’s top performers with more experience under their belt. Juniors Ben Barnett, Brandyn Tuttle, and Taynton Repard led the Hornets last year with Barnett and Tuttle qualifying for Districts, with both finishing in the top 10.

Last year as a team the Hornets were runners-up six times and won at Corey Creek Country Club. With all six of last year’s team coming back, and with five of Northern Tioga’s six returners back from 2016, look for the Hornets and Indians to continue to battle for the top team in the NTL.

Wellsboro begins their season on Thursday at the Coudersport Invite before starting NTL regular season play at Shepard Hills on August 22nd.
