Wellsboro Comic Con 2024 Announces BIG Changes
Wellsboro Comic Con is officially announcing that next year’s event will take place August 10, 2024 and general admission will be free.
“We’ve been hard at work since this year’s Comic Con to make sure that we take all the feedback from our last two years into account and make the show even better than it has been,” said Julian Stam, founder of the event and co-owner of Pop’s Culture Shoppe. “So with that in mind, we’ve decided to make a huge change to next year’s show, and that is that the 2024 Wellsboro Comic Con will be completely free!”
In addition, next year’s event will also be a single day, and the primary location will be centralized around the Deane Center and along Main Street.
“We thought about what started the Comic Con to begin with, and that was really wanting to create a town festival to give back to our community for supporting Pop’s Culture Shoppe through 10 great years of business.” Stam continued.
“And between that and hearing from our artists, vendors, and visitors that there were ways we could make the convention feel more cohesive and unified by pulling more of the activities into a central location, we realized that we could turn next year’s convention into a block party on the block of the Deane Center and it would be a win-win for everyone!”
Event manager, Maia Mahosky, would like to assure attendees that there will be plenty of space for all the vendors and activities that they have come to enjoy.
“The official comic con vendors, artists, and activities will all take place in the Deane Center, the Warehouse Theatre, the Deane Center Lawn, and block of Central Ave. along those buildings – between Main Street and Water Street,” said Mahosky.
“But what’s amazing is that we still have room for about 100 vendors and artists within that space, and with extended hours we’ll still have time for lots of panels, workshops, activities, and presentations, and of course our beloved Cosplay contest, which will be at 4:30pm this year, so it really is going to be a huge event and an amazing opportunity, being free!”
