Wellsboro Borough Interviews Mayor Candidates
Yesterday, May 29th the Wellsboro Borough Council held a special meeting, open to the public, to interview three candidates to fulfill the interim mayor position. The role would conclude the remaining 18 months left in the late John Wheeler’s term until the next municipal election.
The candidates include Mark Thompson, Craig West and Gabe Hakvaag. During the meeting, the candidates introduced themselves, and borough council members asked questions about their vision and motivation for the mayoral role.
The council will vote on the candidates at a follow-up meeting to be held on Monday, June 3rd at 4:00pm.
