HORNETS FALL TO OLD FORGE, 28-21

The Wellsboro Varsity Football team’s historic season came to an end as they lost 28-21 to Old Forge in the first round of PIAA playoffs on Friday, November 27.
The District IV champion Hornets end the year with a record of 10-3, the best overall season record in team history tied the 2013 team for the most wins in a season.

“This is a huge springboard going into next year,” Hildebrand concluded. “It’s very encouraging, they’re upset but it was definitely a learning experience for them.”

FEELING STUFFY?

Plants are a biological filtration system from their head down to their toes. They don’t just go it alone either. They work in tandem with soil microbes to create nutrients out of the very air we breathe. So skip the sterilized potting soil and give them some good old dirt, remember repotting them is a necessity!

BASKETBALL SEASON PREVIEW 2015

The girls stand a very good shot at making playoffs if they can limit turnovers and close out close games down the stretch. The team opens their season on Friday, December 4 at the Muncy Rotary Tournament against Hughesville.

The boys will have an great shot of winning the NTL Division 1 title and making another District championship run. The team opens their season on Saturday, December 5 as they hit the road to take on St. John Neumann.

COMING SOON: DICKENS OF A CHRISTMAS

For the past 31 years in Wellsboro, the first week of December has been a time of preparation for the upcoming Dickens of a Christmas weekend. Trees are waiting for decorations, while festive wreaths and garlands deck the streets. Excitement is in the air. Join us with family and friends this weekend to enjoy the Dickens of a Christmas Festival.

BACK TO BASICS – JOY & CONTENTMENT

The first step to overcoming tough times is recognizing what they are there for. God created you to depend upon Him. He uses the bad days and the difficult seasons to remind you of that you don’t have the power to overcome them on your own.

Whether your bad days have been a bump in the road or a major road block they are there to point you to your need of a Savior. You can overcome them — all of them — through Christ who gives you strength.

The next step is to turn to Christ. You’ll be amazed at what happens when you open your Bible and spend time in prayer. If you aren’t party of a local church, find one that teaches the Bible and make sure you get there this Sunday. I’m praying that even now, God will fill your heart with joy, no matter how bad a day it might be.
