WELLSBORO FOOTBALL DOWNS ATHENS, 28-14
The Wellsboro Varsity Football team improved to 3-0 (3-0 NTL) with a 28-14 win over Athens on Friday, September 9.
“Our defense has been tremendous all year and it was again tonight,” Hildebrand said. “To hold teams to 14 points in three weeks, let alone hold Athens to 14 points. It very easily could have been a shutout. I think our guys got a little down after they scored once because they wanted a donut on the scoreboard, but you have to keep pushing on. It was eventually going to happen (a team scoring), and its out of our system now and we can just play. We played solid all night and I think at the end we got a little fatigued so that’s an area we’ll address. We don’t have a lot of guys so we’re going to have to get in better shape for the fourth quarter.”

NEW COVENANT ACADEMY ANTICIPATES EXPANSION
In regards to the typical schooling model, New Covenant Academy is breaking the mold. Located on Extension Street in Mansfield, this small private school has been impacting lives for decades.
With all of this activity and excitement surrounding NCA, it’s no wonder that the small school has big plans ahead! New Covenant looks forward to a large addition and renovation project in the part of the building that is now the gymnasium. The gym has been an all-purpose room for many years, and will soon be turned in to a more definitive space. The project will also include two levels of additional classrooms. Bruce Reagan hopes to break ground with the project in the summer of 2017, saying happily, “we’ve outgrown our building.”

ROAD TO RECOVERY
The road to recovery after an illness or injury can feel like an overwhelming challenge. But Susquehanna Health is changing that. In our region, we are blessed to have both physical and aquatic therapy from Susquehanna Health. They offer a full range of comprehensive therapy services. Their locations are beautiful, well equipped with the latest rehab equipment, and convenient to all in our community.
Susquehanna currently has four outpatient rehab locations: in Knoxville, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, on Route 6 in Wellsboro and their brand new facility in Mansfield. The new clinic in Mansfield also includes a netted area to rehabilitate “throwing” athletes, as well as a balance machine.
