Unity in Tioga County

by John Vogt - September 8, 2020

On Sunday, September 6, 2020, at 10:30 AM, the Wellsboro Ministerium sponsored the annual Community Service On The Green. Usually, this community service closes out the Laurel Festival. However, the festival was canceled this year because of COVID-19. So the much-appreciated Community Service was moved to September 6.

Ministerium President Pastor Carl Linscott of Crossroads Family Worship Center welcomed attendees. Reverend Dr. Jeff McCleary of First Baptist Church in Wellsboro gave the call to worship, and the Living Word praise team inspired us to lift the Lord in song.

The FIRST LESSON from Isaiah 9 was presented by Drew Seeling, Senior Leader at Living Word. The SECOND LESSON from Colossians 1 has handled by Rev. Brett Kennedy of Vineyard Church of Wellsboro.

Reverend John Bondhus, the new pastor of the United Methodist Church of Wellsboro, was this year’s keynote speaker and presented a message on the Trinity.

Attendees had the opportunity to give to help support the outreach ministries of the Wellsboro Area Ministerium. If you would like to support this outstanding ministry effort in our area donations can be sent to the Wellsboro Ministerium, PO Box 335, Wellsboro, PA, 16901. Thank you!

“Freedom Song,” one of the worship songs featured on Sunday, was written and sung by Home Page Director of Video Production and Living Word worship leader, Andrew Moore. The song is a powerful expression of the freedom found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while proclaiming His goodness.

FREEDOM SONG
No more shackles, no more chains
We’re set free through Jesus’ name
We will sing
You are good, You are good God
By Your hand we overcome
By Your hand the battles won
We will sing
You are good, You are good God

You call us each by name
With power to proclaim
Oh how great You are
Adventure stirs our hearts
As You show us who we are
Children of the King
And we sing

You brought heaven down to us
With freedom as the cause
Your love made the way
Now we dance and sing
And let all our praises ring
To glorify You God

Only You can satisfy me
Only You can satisfy me
Only You can satisfy my heart

You are good, you are good, you are good God
You are good, you are good, you are good God
You are good, you are good, you are good God
Oh so good

Kim Holcomb presented the Doxology, and after the benediction from Pastor Brett Kennedy, the Vineyard Church of Wellsboro served a cookout lunch. This year’s event was well attended and brought together many area church communities showing our unity in Christ.

Special thanks to the Wellsboro Ministerium, the Vineyard Church of Wellsboro for lunch, Living Word worship team, and all the area churches who participated. Please take a few moments to watch today’s broadcast and share it with friends and family.

John 17:20-23 (The words of Jesus Christ)
20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
