The 1950s was a decade that made music history, for the most part, due to the popularity of the American Bandstand.

You can now experience a little piece of that history by attending Turn Back the Clock Sock Hop and listening to our local band, “The Sock Hoppers.” A night of nostalgia and making memories that will last forever is happening in small-town Canton, Pennsylvania.

“The Sock Hoppers” will woo you with songs like “Unchained Melody” and “Georgia on my Mind,” make you dance until you can’t dance anymore with “Twist & Shout,” “Rock Around the Clock,” and “Great Balls of Fire” and the list goes on and on.

The talented sock hop band consists of Brad Chamberlain, Cale Holmes, Tim Wiker, Cindy Yellenic, Ted and Janet Bown, Robyn Chamberlain Cummings, and Brandon Wesneski. Joining the band for the first time will be Fred Close from Troy. This complete-piece band offers musical experience and talent that will blow your socks off.

The Mission & Evangelism team from the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) in Canton invites you to experience a night to remember on Saturday, November 5, 2022. You will enjoy an evening filled with fellowship, live music, snacks, and dancing in your seat or on the dance floor.

This is an evening for the entire family, not just the generations that remember those years. It doesn’t matter if you don’t dance and don’t have a date; if you have a love of music, we guarantee you won’t be sorry you came.

Advanced purchased tickets are required and are available for purchase at MC/Gannon Associates Insurance (Troy), the church office, or by calling Jodi Wesneski at 570-506-0064. Tickets are limited to just 100, so please do not wait. Reservations will be accepted for groups of six or more.

Your donation of just $20 per person will not only include all the fun listed above, but you will also be helping with the fundraising efforts of the handicap access project. “We hope to make the fellowship hall a place everyone can enjoy,” states Sock Hop co-chairperson Jodi Wesneski.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm, and the band begins at 7:00 pm. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Jodi Wesneski (570-506-0064) or the church office (570-673-5796).
