Troy Sale Barn 100th Anniversary Celebration!
TROY, PA — The 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Troy Sale Barn took place on Saturday, June 4th. The event featured food and live music, along with tours of the newly renovated Arena and Founders Lounge.
Lunch was served in the hall where many community members gathered, ate lunch, mingled, sat on the outdoor patio and talked about old times at the barn when it was the local livestock auction. There were many nostalgic stories told, including Alice Schucker who described working in the office and how she and the auctioneer communicated with a clothes line with jars of notes attached to it.
In the arena Bill Bower’s daughter and granddaughter sang songs for a small crowd to enjoy. Drew Krasner also performed for the audience.
An editorial note from Veronica Seymour:
“A lot of volunteer hours has gone into the renovations at the Barn I just can’t explain where it was when I joined the board until now. I’m not going to lie it has been a lot of give and take but to see it 99% complete is just amazing and well worth it. I would like to thank all my fellow board members, the numerous local contractors, and all the volunteers who have given countless hours to make this facility a show stopper for our community.”
