Troy Lenten Lunch Series presented by the Troy Area Christian Council

by Veronica Seymour - March 31, 2022

The Troy Area Christian Council presents the Troy Lenten Lunch Series which is held each Wednesday through Lent at the Troy Baptist Church at Noon.

I had the opportunity to talk with Pastor Kevin Zufall, from Troy Baptist Church, we talked about the challenges presented with Covid-19 and how this Lenten Lunch series has started again after having a 2-year hiatus. It is great to see our community come back together again for a great 7 weeks of series of our faith and great fellowship. We talked about how we sit on the Troy Area Christian Council and how they use this to promote all faiths coming together during this 7 week’s lunch series to worship together.

Each week an area church or churches hosts the event, the church parishioners prepare the sandwiches, soups, and desserts that are served, the Pastors from the church open with prayer, sing hymns, present a homily, or read scriptures of their choosing. It’s a great fellowship of the different faiths within the Troy Community and it brings between 80 – 100 people together.

There are two more weeks of Lenten, to join in the series anyone can come and participate, it is held Wednesdays at Noon, at Troy Baptist Church located at 579 Canton Street, Troy, PA 16947. There is a suggested donation of $5.00 for the lunch, if you cannot afford it we still encourage all to come to worship our faith with God, enjoy lunch and great community fellowship. The donations go directly to the Troy Area Christian Council where all monies go right back out to support Troy and the surrounding communities.
