Troy falls to Athens in OT of showcase final

SAYRE — The Troy Trojans fell to the Athens Wildcats in the NTL showcase final on Saturday, Feb. 19.

Ty Barrett was clutch once again dropping in 33 points, including seven 3-pointers. Barrett would go on to hit three straight from long distance to bring the Trojans back in the fourth quarter and help force overtime.

Mason Imbt chipped in with 13 points, including six in the fourth quarter, as Justice Chimics had nine points. Ethan VanNoy had two 3-pointers for six points, with Lance Heasley added six.

JJ Babcock led Athens with 29 points, eight of them coming in overtime, while Nalen Carling finished with 15. Tucker Brown and Mason Lister had eight points each, while Troy Pritchard scored four. Kolsen Keathley and Chris Mitchell had two points each.

The Troy Trojans return to action on Thursday, Feb. 24 when they host North Penn-Mansfield in the opening round of the District IV playoffs.
