Troy Area High School Drama Club presents OKLAHOMA!
Troy Home Page attended a rehearsal for the show OKLAHOMA this week. We had the pleasure of meeting with Mrs. Sydney Blade, the Director of Musical Theatre, about this week upcoming production. Sydney is very passionate about the drama club as she has been involved with it since she attended high school herself at Troy. She has been the Director of the last several productions that the school has put on.
Sydney told us about the show; an exuberant and lively classic musical – full of cowboys, farmers, romance, and fearless optimism. There are 50 students, faculty and community members that have volunteered endless hours to make this production a great success.
If you are from the Troy area then you are no stranger to Sydney’s maiden name, Blade. Her family volunteers countless hours in and around the Troy community. Her mother is in charge of costumes, her father built and helped work on the staging, lighting, sound and more! Her sister, whom is a 5th grade teacher at Troy Intermediate, was in charge of choreography.
We interviewed a few key stars of the show, including Dustin Hagin, Hunter Kulago and Elizabeth Geer, who play lead characters in the show. Watch the video for more tidbits about their roles!
If you are looking for some great entertainment in Troy this weekend, you are not going to want to miss OKLAHOMA!
