Trojans trounce Wyalusing Rams, 41-7
On Friday, September 15 the Troy Trojans hosted the Wyalusing Rams, and came away with another decisive victory 41-7.
First quarter, Wyalusing on Troy’s 45 yard line – the Rams threw the ball up and it was snagged by Troy’s Camryn Harwick, giving the Trojans the ball early in the quarter on their own 34.
Shortly after, with 10 minutes and 45 seconds remaining in the first, Troy lined up and faked the run before pitching it back to Hardwick. He launched the ball upfield to Lincoln Chimics who ran 30 yards in for a Trojan touchdown. The kick was good – Trojans 7, Rams 0.
Time ticking down in the first quarter, the Trojans marched their way down the field and found some daylight as Brenden Gilliland found his way outside and went untouched into the end zone, making it 14-0 Trojans.
In the second quarter Troy’s Mason Smith found the outside for another score, 21-0 Troy.
Late into the second quarter Troy lined up on their own 48 went to the sky, dishing the ball downfield to Smith for the touchdown. Trojans up, 28-0.
With just 41 second remaining in the half Chimics put Troy up again, 35-0.
Third quarter, Troy advanced down the field and Jackson Taylor found his way across the goaline for yet another Trojan Touchdown, 41-0.
Troy’s wall held out strong until the Rams finally found a path in the fourth quarter with just one minute left to play – preventing the shutout, 41-7.
The Troy Trojans will be back on the field in Athens this Friday.
