Towanda Tops Panthers, 26-6
On Saturday, August 26 the North Penn Mansfield Panthers hosted the Towanda Black Nights at Island Park in Blossburg. However the Black Knights would come up victorious, 26-6.
North Penn started out strong. Third and 10 on their first possession, QB Karson Dominick threw a corner route to Luke Kreger, who took it 54 yards to the house. The extra point was no good, but North Penn took the early lead, 6-0.
Towanda fired back, scoring on their next drive, punching it in from the red zone. Their extra point was good, confirming their lead 7-6.
The Black Knights continued driving down the field. Their persistence paid off as Rylie Vanderpool called his own number to pay dirt, 13-6.
Towanda kept up the pressure, scoring again in the second quarter with just over 2 minutes left. And once more in the third, padding their lead 26-6.
The Panthers did’t go down without a fight, forcing a fumble in the fourth quarter deep in Towanda territory. However, Towanda held their lead, finishing the game 26-6.
The North Penn Mansfield Panthers will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Canton, kickoff at 7:00pm.
