Tioga County Fair Highlights 2023 | Day 1
The 57th Annual Pennsylvania Tioga County Fair takes place this week from August 7th through the 12th.
Today is Senior Citizens Day, which means anyone over 62 years of age will have free admission up until 5:00 pm. This is an excellent incentive to encourage bringing the children and grandchildren to the fair.
Home Page cameras caught up with Jessica Slocum, the newly crowned 2023 Tioga County Fair Queen. Jessica is honored to represent her fair as well as the community of Tioga County. In the video, Jessica is holding her rabbit named Blitz, a Netherlands Dwarf Chocolate. Himalayan. Blitz won the grand champion showman title. Jessica loves all breeds of rabbits, and she has 15 rabbits to show at the fair.
We spoke with eight-year-old twin brothers Colton and Nolan Doan at the goat barn. Nolan’s goat’s name is Queenie. Queenie was born on the family farm. Colton’s goat’s name is Clover which the family bought for him.
Wellsboro Agricultural teacher and Tioga Fair Board member Melanie Berndtson said that the fair is an excellent opportunity for all of the community members to come and see all of the hard work of the students of FFA and 4H that they have done throughout the year. It is also fun to meet farm animals and their children who raise them.
You’ll often see your neighbors and friends while you walk around the fairgrounds.
