This Variety Radio Station In Mansfield Is Student-Run
MANSFIELD – Students run every aspect of day-to-day operations at WNTE 89.5FM in Mansfield. This opportunity is made available to Mansfield University students who want real-world experience working in a radio setting.
The station has been in operation for nearly 60 years. Originally called “The Giant,” the station now goes by the title “Mansfield University’s Loudest Voice.”
Everyone working at the station is a volunteering student, supervised by two faculty advisors.
“WNTE is all about expression, feeling free to do what you wanna do, and community,” said general manager Ken Huber. “We love building a culture within our organization and just giving people a space where they can feel like themselves.”
“Everyone should listen to WNTE,” said assistant general manager Valerie Miller. “We have a very wide library that caters to so many different tastes. Even if you want to hear a song, you can always call in at 570-662-4650 and we will play any genre, any artist.”
