There’s fresh produce in season all the time at “Produce Anytime”!

There’s fresh produce in season all the time at “Produce Anytime”!

by Deb Bastian - March 3, 2022

If you’d like beautiful, fresh produce, take a scenic drive to “Produce Anytime” in Roseville. Kyle Loughner has been supplying the local community with vegetables and fruits through his quaint market stand for over 4 years. It all started when he would sell pumpkins from his garden. He personally grows award winning produce and competes annually at the Tioga County Fair. His hot peppers and other entries have been winners 13 years in a row!

Kyle supplies local restaurants as well as customers who visit the stand. He can take orders and will seek out particular vegetables or fruit that a customer requests. He travels from the Finger Lakes to Lancaster County to southern New Jersey and points in between to find great buys and quality produce. Sometimes he’ll be on the road two times a week keeping the stand supplied. He also attends auctions, purchases from local and regional farmers, and orders from wholesalers.

What are his best sellers? Year-round, potatoes are number 1. Seasonally, watermelons in the summer and pumpkins and squash in the fall are always sought after.

The Covid-19 pandemic created a very high demand for fresh produce. Kyle shared that between March and April of 2020, the beginning of the pandemic, during a three week period, he sold over 10,000 lbs. of potatoes, 4,000 lbs. of onions, 3000 lbs. of carrots and of cabbage and 1000’s of pounds of other produce. Customers were non-stop from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM daily at that time. How did he keep the shelves stocked curing the shut-down? Sometimes he had three trucks with trailers picking up supplies. They’d leave at 3:00AM to get produce so they could be back, shelves stocked and open by 9:00, with customers already in line!

Now things have slowed down and the stand is open daily, year round, from 9:00 AM to dark. Kyle has a Facebook page at “Produce Anytime” with directions to the stand, contact information and pictures of his current stock. Be sure to “Like” his page so that you will receive notice whenever he posts something new. You can also “messenger “him from Facebook with specific questions.

Set your GPS to 341 Tears Road, Roseville, PA and get ready to stock up on delicious fresh fruits and veggies at “Produce Anytime”!
