The Power Of Easter: The Resurrection

by Pastor Sean Tymeson - April 18, 2022

I want to draw your attention to one of the most powerful events in mankind’s history. It happened without much fanfare or notoriety yet still has great impact on us today. When it occurred, there was skepticism to whether it was actually real. Some refused to believe it was true while others essentially tried to cover it up its existence. Then there were those who did believe though they were small in number.

The event I am referring to is the resurrection of Jesus and this still holds true 2000 years later. Even though there are actual historical accounts about this event from various sources, it is being dismissed and disdained by more and more people. Why would something so powerful, so miraculous, even so encouraging be so stigmatized with doubt and unbelief?

Well, it’s really rather simple. The enemy of our soul, the devil knows without a resurrection the message of Christianity is empty and void of power. You see without a resurrection the gospel or the good news is meaningless. Without a resurrection the forgiveness of sins is hopeless. Without a resurrection our current lives would be joyless. Without a resurrection living for God would be fruitless and without a resurrection there would be no hope for the future. All of it would be totally reliant upon us. That at its core is humanism. The future left entirely in the hands of humankind.

I challenge you to do your own research. Read historical accounts, listen to theologians that have searched the Bible for decades, read the scriptures yourself and you will be amazed that the hope of the world is only found in Jesus. And if there is no resurrection then there is no Jesus and if there is no Jesus then there really is no hope for our future. May God Bless you on your journey to real life!
