The 26th Annual Live Nativity

by John Vogt - December 15, 2016

Today on Wellsboro Home Page we visit with Executive Director and Co-Founder Jeff Rush about the Live Nativity which will be presented this weekend at Three Springs Ministries. Three Springs has been doing their live nativity presentation for the past twenty-six years. Thousands attend from all over our region to see this creative presentation of the Christmas story. This year’s Live Nativity is called One Holy Night.

Jeff and and his wife Deanne began Three Springs Ministries in 1984. They had been married for about a year at the time. Jeff and Deanne had a dream of starting a camp and retreat center. They believed that there was something unique and special about getting kids away from the daily routine to be able to focus on spiritual things along with the fun of a camp and retreat center environment. They lived in Southeastern, PA at the time. So, when God opened the door for them to come to Tioga County they took that step of faith.

This weekend at Three Springs Ministries thousands will come to witness their Live Nativity Musical Drama. This is one very special annual event that you do not want to miss. There will be a total of nine shows this weekend. Presentations will run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 16, 17 & 18. There will be three shows each night beginning at 5:30, 7:00 & 8:30. There is off-site parking available. So, you can arrive early and take the shuttle bus. You will find complete details on today’s Home Page broadcast.

There are over one hundred and sixty people involved in putting this incredible performance together. The village of Bethleham is recreated. And, you not only have the opportunity to watch the performance, you are right there in the midst of the performers. You will have that emotional experience of walking through the marketplace at the time of Jesus’ birth. You see, first hand, the venders, and beggars, the animals and Roman guardsman. This unique presentation takes you to the inside of the story where you will actually see, feel, and smell much of what those moments must have been like. The experience has a way of sealing in our hearts what God has done for us when He sent His one and only son, Jesus, to save us from our sin. This experience gives new meaning to the scriptures in a way that is not easily forgotten.

For more information on One Holy Night and how you and your family and friends can attend call 570-353-2155. You can also visit ThreeSpringsMinistries.org. There is NO CHARGE to attend. Wellsboro Home Page encourages you to make a donation if possible. Be sure to watch today’s broadcast for all the details.
