Task Force UPDATE – 2 Confirmed Cases In Tioga County
At the time of this broadcast, Tuesday March 31st, there are 2 confirmed positive cases in Tioga County. As the numbers of positive cases in the state and in the counties around Tioga continue to increase, the Task Force wanted to take this opportunity to reiterate the importance of following the state and national guidelines.
Please continue to observe social distancing. Shopping and other necessary outings should be limited to what is essential, such as picking up groceries, medicine or essential travel for your job.
The Task Force would like to encourage all residents to please refrain from all non-essential travel and please do no host or attend gatherings.
I’m sure you’ve been hearing all the health care experts say that we need to “flatten the curve.” But what does that mean? It means that all Tioga County residents need to follow the recommended guidelines and take the necessary precautions to keep the number of COVID-19 cases at a manageable level. To date, we are doing a good job of keeping the numbers at a very manageable level for Tioga County and now’s the time to continue our mitigation efforts to ensure we keep the number of infected residents as low as possible. The more people who get sick at the same time, the more resources we will need quickly and medical professionals become overwhelmed.
To assist with the accurate and timely flow of information, the Task Force has developed a Facebook page. Please visit Tioga County PA COVID-19 Task Force on Facebook for up to date information.
The Task Force will make every attempt to answer as many of your questions as we can, so please continue to send your questions to Representatives Owlett’s office, the Home Page Network, or through our Facebook page.
We will get through this together. Please continue to be good neighbors, offer assistance to those in needs, spread some neighborly love…and above all else, WASH YOUR HANDS.
