Canton Warriors score pair of wins over Mansfield, Liberty

The Canton Warriors scored a pair of road wins over North Penn-Mansfield and North Penn-Liberty on Wednesday, December 11.

In NTL boys basketball cross-over action, Canton edged North Penn-Mansfield 58-56. In a back-and-forth contest, the Tigers held a 16-15 lead after the opening quarter and a 30-28 lead at the half. Canton outscored Mansfield 16-12 to start the second half to take a 44-42 lead heading into the final eight minutes of play.

Both teams scored 14 points each in the final frame, but Canton was able to hold on for the two-point victory.

Logan Tokarz led the Tigers with 17 points, Jacob Evans scored 11 points, and Curtis Craig scored 10.

Cooper Kitchen (16) and Isaiah Niemczyk (14) were the leading scorers for Canton.

In wrestling the Warriors won 11 matches to top North Penn-Liberty, 54-18.
