“Scams Against Seniors” Program Educates Community Members
Last week a free program titled “Scams Against Seniors” was held at the Wellsboro High School Auditorium. The guest speakers for this event included Dave Shallcross (Office of Attorney General and director of the Senior Protection Unit Education and Outreach Specialist, Pete Boergermann, SVP director of Information Security at C&N, and Wellsboro Police Chief Jim Bodine.
The purpose of the program was to educate seniors in our community about scams and the techniques scammers use to prey on unsuspecting and emotionally vulnerable victims.
