Rotary Club of Wellsboro Seeking New Members

by Lauren Gooch - March 29, 2021

Looking for a place to truly make an impact? Rotary is a place where people of all ages come together for a greater purpose of LASTING CHANGE – globally, locally, and personally. Rotary’s inclusive approach communicates a vision of impact and compassion for others, fueled by their heart for service.

You may have seen Rotary members around town giving their time to various organizations such as Goodies For Our Troops, The Salvation Army, or Partners in Progress. Or, you may be familiar with how they seek to invest in others through programs like their Exchange Student Program. Currently, Rotary is holding a fundraiser for the Laurel Festival, one of Wellsboro’s most cherished traditions. But, Rotary’s community-minded focus is not simply just a place to do community service – it’s a life mission of lasting change, devotion to the welfare of others, and believing in the power of coming together to unite as one.

What makes Rotary special is the people. They value diversity, and strive to encourage unity and inclusion. They are people of action – seeking to work together to promote peace and to positively impact the world around them.

“The more members we have, the more we’re able to do – the more we can help the community,” said President Dawn Bowser.

Rotary is always ready to welcome new members who want to help them in this mission. Those who are interested in getting involved in Rotary are encouraged to come to one of their meetings. There is no age limit – all are welcome. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church on Thursdays at noon and last about an hour. Bring a lunch, and enjoy networking, socializing, and learning from a guest speaker each week. They spend time at the end of each meeting celebrating all the good that they are doing within the community. Thank you, Rotary, for your heart for service and dedication to making a positive impact!
