“Play NICE” Winner Announced!

by Lauren Gooch - May 11, 2020

Congratulations to Jessica Monger for winning $100 and a beautiful Mother’s Day floral arrangement from Akiko’s Floral Arts in Wellsboro! She was the first person to find the Nice Button and submit a nice comment. The NICE button was located on the “Be the Light” feature. Stay tuned for our next PLAY NICE contest – coming soon!

Jessica’s comment was, “I am grateful that my husband has been so wonderful to our whole family during the pandemic. He is home taking great care of our children so that I am able to work.”

Thank you, Jessica, for being one of the amazing health workers during this time. We appreciate all the work you do!

Here are some of the other NICE comments we received:

—–

“Two times recently when I was at the grocery store, I saw someone give the last item in the shelf to someone else! It blessed me to see people putting others before themself! We have an amazing town!”

“Thank you to all of the teachers and faculty in the Wellsboro Area School District. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for our children during this time. We appreciate each and every one of you!”

“The people at Pop’s Culture Shoppe are so nice and friendly! It’s one of my favorite places to take my friends when they come to visit. There’s a great selection of games and puzzles, and it makes us happy just to be there!”

“I appreciate the service done on my car from Matthew’s Motor Company! They made my first car-buying experience so special and are constantly there to support their customers, even in times of need.”

Just wanted to send some positivity to Julie VanNess and the people at the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce. They have had to make some really tough decisions within the past couple of days, and it’s very admirable how they have handled it. The decisions they have made to protect the health of those in our community are much appreciated because we know how much they truly care about the well-being of our community, and we know the decisions were made with our best interest at heart.”

“Shoutout to Akiko’s Floral Arts for being so kind to give away a Mother’s Day bouquet for this giveaway! They always show kindness to our community and brighten people’s day!”

“Dawn Pletcher works so hard to provide care packages for the troops and is doing such a wonderful job. Her genuine heart and care to look beyond the needs of herself and to the needs of others is incredible. Keep up the great work, Dawn!”

“Kayla Mengee is such a bright light in this world! Her blog posts are so inspiring, and she loves others so well. She is a great role model to others!”

“Mary Wise creates such beautiful art!”

“Mrs. Judy Smithgall is so supportive of others! She is always cheering us on, and making sure others know how loved they are. She believes in them and recognizes their talents. She is one of the kindest, most supportive people I know!”

“Joe at Akikos is working hard with his crew to make this Mother’s Day special for all of those moms in quarantine.”

“State Representative Clint Owlett has been doing a amazing job keeping us up to date about what is going on. We are lucky to have him.”

“I would like to say something nice about Mrs.Morey and Mrs.M at Trinity Lutheran School. They are the best teachers I’ve ever encountered and have made a huge impact in my sons life. They go above and beyond. We were very saddened he didn’t get to finish his first year of school with them. He talks about them often and misses them both lots!”

“I want to say thank you to all of our grocery store workers and local businesses! They keep our community alive, along with our health workers. Also, happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers.”

“I always love the hospitality that the Dumpling House offers. I never leave with an empty stomach and always have a smile on my face. I love their food! So thankful they have take out during this time.”

“During this time it is hard for some to be nice and remain positive. With that being said,I want to say thank you to everyone who is trying to make it through this and trying to stay positive. My Mom and Granddaughter are what have kept me going. When I am down they make me smile. I don’t know what I would do with out them. It only takes a minute to be positive and pass on a smile. With God and prayers we will get through this. Thanks to all of you doing work in this time of uncertainty. May God Bless you all.”

“I’m so proud to live where I do.”

“My neighborhood has a Facebook page where every day a neighbor checks in to see if everyone is doing okay or if they know someone who needs help. I find it so heartwarming the way people come together to help each other out during this difficult time. It restores my faith in humanity.”

“Would love to give a shout out to Dawn Pletcher continuing her work for our soldiers deployed over seas thru goodies for our troops, even during the uncontrollable hardships of this pandemic she continued to act through kindness putting others first with her compassion and golden heart.”
