On Saturday, February 17 the PIAA District 4 Class AA Wrestling Sectionals was held at Athens Area High School.
North Penn-Liberty’s Bryce Pequignot took first place at a weight class of 107.
At 114, Canton’s Lyle Vermilya took the top of the podium.
At 121 North Penn-Liberty’s Brayden Pequignot took second place.
At 133 Canton’s Carson Rockwell took first place.
At 139 Canton’s Cohen Landis claimed third.
At 145 Canton’s Holden Ward took second place. And North Penn-Liberty’s Riley Oakes secured third.
At 152 Troy’s Kenyan Slater claimed fourth.
At 160 Canton’s Hudson Ward took the top seat. Followed by Troy’s Jacob Hinman at third.
At 172 North Penn-Liberty’s Easton Pequignot beat out Wellsboro’s Ryder Bowen for first. Troy’s William Steele followed close behind in third.
At 189 Canton’s Michael Davis claimed second. And Troy’s Rylan Breidt took fourth.
At 215 Troy’s Reed Palmer took third place.
At 285 Canton’s Mason Harold took third.
Everyone who claimed a podium spot in sectionals will move on to compete at Districts this Friday and Saturday, February 23rd and 24th – with the district championship finals at 6:30 on Saturday.
