Panthers Roll Past Rams, 48-20

by Ed Weaver - September 30, 2019

Junior Bryan Bogaczyk rushed for 123 yards on 23 carries and scored multiple touchdowns in a 48-20 win at Wyalusing on Friday, September 27.

The Panthers got out to an early first quarter lead as Colton Litzelman connected with Logan Tokarz on a 16 yard pass with 8:33 remaining to lead 7-0. Later in the second quarter the Panthers increased their lead, on a short run by Bogaczyk, to 14-0.

Following a Wyalusing touchdown off a blocked Panther punt, Bogaczyk scored his 2nd rushing touchdown from short yardage to put North Penn up 21-8 before halftime.

The Panthers scored four more times in the second half. With 5:49 left on the clock Bogaczyk found the end zone for a third time putting North Penn up 28-8, then later scored with 2:34 to go in the quarter, again on a short run, to increase North Penn’s lead to 35-8.

Wyalusing scored right as the fourth quarter started before the Panthers’s Kohen Lehman scored twice to wrap up the victory for North Penn.

Lehman finished with 137 yards on 8 carries and Koleton Roupp rushed 8 times for 61 yards. Litzelman finished 11-for-16 on the night for 98 yards and a touchdown, while Tokarz led the receiving corps with 43 yards on 4 catches. Kaelan Matczak also caught 3 passes for 37 yards.

The win improves the Panthers to 3-3 (3-1 NTL Large School Division) on the season before they hit the road for a long trip to Philipsburg-Osceola this coming Friday night.
