PA Wilds Seeking To Bring Life Surrounding Rural Communities
Pennsylvania Wilds brings life to rural areas by strengthening and inspiring communities. Lakeshia Knarr, Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Director, gave a presentation for the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce under the direction of Melissa Underwood to share the organization’s vision.
Melissa is also a Mansfield Home Page Correspondent; so after the presentation, she interviewed Lakeshia Knarr and Rachel Courtney of Sugar Mama’s Appalachian Maple. ( watch the video presentation for the answers to Melissa’s questions.)
There are two million acres of public land for us to explore. When we do that, exploring Pennsylvania Wilds encourages us to love the wilds and follow these simple suggestions. ‘ Leave the plants, rocks, and historical places as you found them. Protect living trees and plants by not carving into or cutting them, which removes the plant’s protective layer and exposes them to insects and disease. Stop the spread of invasive species by cleaning boots, waders, and bike tires and cleaning, draining, and drying all watercraft before and after every adventure.
Small businesses and organizations may lever the power of the Pennsylvanian Wilds brand by joining the Wilds Cooperative of PA (WCO)
The WCO seeks to help regional businesses capture even more of Pennsylvanian’s 29.1 billion outdoor recreation economy.
There are creative and experienced makers in the Wilds Cooperative.

Thanks for supporting our local businesses and the beautiful wilds that surround us!
