MU Psych Central – More Than Therapy
The Mansfield University Psychology Department is proud to host the first broadcasting of “MU Psych Central”, a feature dedicated to sharing psychological research with Tioga County that is relevant and applicable to daily life.
Psychology may be mostly understood as a field of “common sense” or psychoanalytical theory first proposed by Sigmund Freud, but it goes way beyond these limited points of view. It has evolved into a credible science that offers insight into the mind (how we think and emote) and how our mind influences behavior. It is used in a variety of disciplines, jobs, and careers and has incredible effects on people’s lives everyday.
“MU Psych Central” hopes to clear up some of the misconceptions about psychology and offer Tioga County some helpful hints regarding relationships, communication, development, parenting, organizational processes, mental and physical health, positive psychology, working effectively and productively in groups, social phenomenon, and much more. The Mansfield Psychology Department hopes you continue to tune into our broadcast and take advantage of this information.
The Mansfield University psychology department includes Dr. Gretchen Sechrist, Department Chair and Associate Professor, who specializes in Social Psychology, Dr. Dennis Murray, Professor, who holds expertise in Counseling Psychology, Dr. Brian Loher, Professor, our Human Resource Management specialist, Dr. Francis Craig, Professor, expert in Mind/Body Health, Dr. Karri Verno, Associate Professor, who specializes in Lifespan Development and Forensic Psychology and Nicolle Mayo, Assistant Professor, expert in Marriage and Family Therapy.
