Movin’ Together: Prioritize Your Health

by Sara Vogt - January 11, 2023

One word that summarizes my desire for this year is perseverance. The dictionary says that perseverance is persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. As the famous saying goes,’ When the going gets tough, the tough get going which means when there are problems, strong people work hard to solve them.

Our tool this month in Movin’ Together is scheduling! Don’t just prioritize your schedule: schedule your priorities.

One of the priorities I am scheduling this year is going to 365 Fitness (gym) a few days a week. I have fallen three times in the past fifteen years and fractured three different bones, and the last fall was in April of this year while playing Pickle Ball. This FINAL fracture was located in the hip, and it took longer to heal and was quite painful during the healing process. So one of my motivations for getting to the gym is to strengthen my bones and stay strong so that I can enjoy a breakless, painless life! Or at least try for one!

And It’s never too late to build bone health. Weight-bearing exercise is beneficial at every stage of life: childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
Exercise is vital for building strong bones when we are younger and maintaining bone strength when we are older. Because bone is a living tissue, it changes over time in response to the forces placed upon it. When you exercise regularly, your bone adapts by building more bone and becoming denser.

At 365 Fitness, Certified Personal Trainer Austin Dunham is passionate about encouraging and instructing the members to become fit. When you become a member of 365 Fitness, they will do a fitness assessment, and the areas are cardio levels, flexibility, mobility, and body composition.

Did you know that if your medicare supplement has Silver Sneakers, you can join the gym for free? There are 1500 hundred people in a 5 miles radius around the gym that are eligible! You can check to see if you are one of them!

Also, some of our employers pay for the memberships, so we also go free!

Ladies, comment on our special Facebook post for your opportunity to win a free month at 365 Fitness and a training session with Austin to see if the gym is a good fit for fitness in 2023.

Keep moving, loving, and caring for yourself and others – Keep Movin’ Together.
