Mounties roll to 10-1 victory over Sayre on Senior Night

Alexander, Johnson combine for hat tricks in lopsided win

by Ed Weaver - October 17, 2018

Caiden Alexander and Nathaniel Johnson had a pair of hat tricks as the North Penn-Liberty Mounties cruised to a 10-1 victory over Sayre during Senior Night on Tuesday, October 16.

The first half was dominated by Alexanders as Caiden opened the game with back-to-back goals, the first coming at 31:26 from Taylor Nelson, and the second at 27:19 from Johnson to give the Mounties an early 2-0 lead. Kevin Alexander took over later in the half, scoring with 12:00 left and with 49 seconds left to give the Mounties a 4-0 lead at the break.

Once the break was over, North Penn-Liberty scored 6 more goals to put the game firmly in their control.

Johnson scored his hat trick during the half, Caiden Alexander finished his with his final goal of the game, and Nick Grinnell and Logan Horsley added the remaining goals.

North Penn-Liberty took 33 shots on the night and held the Redskins to just 2 total shots, one of which they scored on with 5:35 left to play. Liberty also had a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.

Next up for North Penn-Liberty are back-to-back road games to close out the regular season. They are at Northeast Bradford on Thursday, October 18 and at Athens on the 20th.
