Molly Dry Memorial Invitational
On April 11 at Mansfield University the 17th annual Molly Dry Memorial Invitational took place. Many schools from around the area took part in the meet that memorializes Mansfield University’s first track and field coach.In overall scoring Wellsboro took fourth place earning a total of 79 points and North Penn Mansfield got 7th with 44 points.
In the Girls Triple jump Wellsboro’s Annika Gehman earned second place with a distance of 33 feet 09.75 inches and North Penn Mansfield’s Madilynn Scott leaped 30-9.25 placing 4th
In the boy’s high jump, North-Penn Mansfield’s Luke Kreger bounded over the bar at 5 foot 8 inches earning him third place while Wellsboro’s Micah Vickery placed 6th at a height of 5-06
The Wellsboro girls took 4th place in the 4×800 meter relay in 13 minutes flat as well as the Wellsboro boys also earning fourth place in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9 minutes and 41 seconds
In the girls 2000 Meter steeple chase with Lauren Kosek claiming 5th place in 8:59.56
There were many more events on this windy and rainy day with lots of tough and competitive competition. Both the Wellsboro hornets and the North Penn Mansfield tigers will be back on the track April 16th Wellsboro hosting the Wyalusing rams and the Sayre Redskins and North Penn Mansfield is Traveling to Troy to face off against the Trojans and the Towanda Black Knights.
