Modern Pop Artist Michael Albert Visits Canton

by Johnathan Morgan - July 11, 2023

CANTON – This past Thursday, July 6th, Modern Pop Artist Michael Albert visited the Canton Green Free Library to showcase his works and encourage and inspire multiple generations to make art.

His program included a discussion about how he became an artist, what inspires him, and a bit of show and tell as he brought numerous posters to not only display, but give away!

Parents and children were free to cut, paste, and create masterpieces of their very own with a large variety of product boxes.

Canton resident Walter Morgan even created a piece to celebrate Albert’s visit to the library, which will be cherished by the artist.

“I’m on this mission to try to inspire, but really by doing that I’m inspired.”

“I’ve been working at this now for 35 years to try to make this happen, especially over the last couple years when I’ve really started ramping things up.” “…I’ve done this program in 43 states now and more than a thousand times, and now in Europe and Canada.”

This was but one of the Green Free Library’s annual summer programs. The two remaining programs are “Science of Collaboration,” held on Wednesday July 12th, and “Field Day Canton War Memorial Park,” on Wednesday July 19th. Both programs begin at 10:00 AM.

You can learn more about Michael Albert by visiting his website www.michaelalbert.com, or finding him on Facebook.
