Mini Relay For Life Raises Over $5,200 To Help Cancer Victims
On Friday, June 2nd the Rock L Butler Middle School hosted their annual mini-relay for life. For weeks, students have been busy raising funds, planning for games, and even some prepared to donate their hair! Staff and students join together to raise support and honor those who are battling cancer, those who have lost the fight, and for those who have survived.
Three middle school ladies and one teacher donated 8 inches of their hair while three male staff members allowed their heads to be shaved. The final total for the 10th Annual Mini Relay for Life is $4,228.20. Superintendent, Mrs. Alanna Huck generously donated $1,000.00, so that brings it to a whopping $5,228.20.
The money raised will be donated to the following:
– ACS
– Humble Bumble
– Callie Cares
– and to six anonymous individuals
Jennifer Outman, event organizer would like to thank and give credit to the STING Club, Student Council, and Enrichment for all of their hard work and the creation of games. She also thanks the school administration, faculty and staff – for their support and patience throughout the process.
