Merry Christmas & Happy Ground (Hogs) Day?
Tioga County Fair coverage continues today on The Home Page Network. You don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving or Christmas to have a holiday celebration! They’re already celebrating at the Tioga County Fair. This year’s Fair theme is HOLIDAYS! Folks are celebrating Christmas, Groundhog Day, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, and more.
Annette Miles, Chairman of the Beef Department and her daughter Lacy Miles, with help from the kids, who participate in the shows, decided on this year’s theme. Different barns have different celebrations. You can catch both Easter and The 4th of July at the Rabbits and Poultry Barn. Feeling a little haunted, then check out Halloween at the Horse barn. Christmas and New Years are just around the corner when you visit both the Beef and Dairy Barns. You as can enjoy St. Patrick’s Day in the Goat Barn. If you’re feeling soft and fuzzy join the Valentine’s Day celebration located at the Sheep barn. Last but certainly not least, the pigs might be seeing their shadows since Ground “Hogs” Day is at the Pig Barn.
Today and tomorrow are the last two days of the Fair, but there is still a lot going on, including fantastic food, rides, and animals. The Demolition Derby runs both tonight and Saturday at 7 pm. Tickets are $9 per person. Get ready for some laughs with 321 Improv at 4 pm and 7 pm on Saturday. Tickets are $12. Remember, ticket prices do not cover the cost of Fair Admission. But, that’s okay because the prices are always FAIR!
A Lumberjack Competition will begin at noon on Saturday, Aug 10th. This event is open to professionals as well as novices. The entry fee is $5 with registration beginning at 10:30 am.
There are also free events throughout the day. Visit this page to find out more!
We want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make the Tioga County Fair happen!
Let’s plan on supporting and going to the Tioga County Fair next year.
Thank you for visiting The Home Page Network.
