Big 2nd half leads Bloomsburg past North Penn-Mansfield
A week after picking up their first win of the 2018 season the North Penn-Mansfield Panthers suffered a 28-7 loss at the hands of the Bloomsburg Panthers on Friday, September 7.

“It was even through the half and it got out of control and that’s my fault,” said head coach Tom Dickinson. “I didn’t control our players and we’ll correct that and it won’t happen again. Next week we’re back in the league and we have to fix some things to get back with Troy.”

Emergency 101: Who’s Responding – Part 1
We all know the importance of the 911 system and the ability for people to call for help when something goes wrong. Because of that the 911 system has been carefully regulated and monitored for many years to ensure that callers get the best quality service they can.

But how well does the system work after the 911 call for service has been dispatched to the Emergency Medical Services and fire departments? In Tioga County, the number of volunteer emergency responders has been declining.

North Penn XC sweeps Sayre, Sullivan County
The North Penn-Mansfield Cross Country teams hosted an swept a Northern Tier League meet with Sayre and Sullivan County on Tuesday, September 11.

In the girls race the Lady Tigers beat Sayre 18-41 and Sullivan County 15-50. In the boys race North Penn-Mansfield beat Sullivan County 16-43 and Sayre 15-50. The Sayre girls beat Sullivan County 15-50 while the Sullivan County boys beat Sayre 15-50.

For the girls Laura Ensminger took home the top spot for the Lady Tigers in 22:03, followed by Emma Harris at 22:12. Sayre’s Kayla Hughey was 3rd in 22:47, and Shelby Alexander and Grace Farrer rounded out the top 5 in 23:37.

Sara also found out from last year’s second place winner, Jan Stiner, how he felt when he was awarded a gift certificate for a Christine A Moore hat. Seeing that it was Christmas time, he offered the certificate to his wife so she could have a hat made for her. BUT is that the end of the story? Lady Mounties sweep Troy
The North Penn-Liberty volleyball team remained undefeated on the 2018 season as they swept Troy 3-0 on Thursday, September 13 at home.

The win improves the Lady Mounties to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the NTL Large School Division on the year. The team will be back in action next week as they travel to Elmira on Monday, September 17 for a non-league game.
