Mansfield Foundation Announces COVID-19 Student Relief Fund

Mansfield Foundation Announces COVID-19 Student Relief Fund

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 7, 2020

Mansfield, Pa. — The Mansfield Foundation announced the launch of the newly established COVID-19 Student Relief Fund to support the unforeseen financial needs of Mansfield University students who have been impacted by the transition to remote education, lost jobs or other unanticipated situations caused by this global public health crisis.

Through this newly launched effort, funds will be made available by the Mansfield Foundation to currently enrolled MU students who are experiencing unforeseen financial difficulties or are unable to meet expenses, such as transportation needs, access to technology or other school-related expenses, safety-related needs, access to safe housing, temporary food insecurity, etc.

The Mansfield Foundation is working in partnership with the Mansfield University’s Financial Aid Office in the administration of this fund. Our Financial Aid Office has already been receiving and approving requests for students in need right now.

Students in need of emergency assistance are encouraged to review support resources available through the Financial Aid website located at https://esd.mansfield.edu/financial-services/index.cfm, which includes a link to the COVID-19 Student Relief Fund Application. Students also are encouraged to contact the office by email at ddavey@mansfield.edu.

For questions about how to support the COVID-19 Student Relief Fund, contact the Mansfield Foundation at mufdn@mansfieldfoundation.org. During the present public health crisis, all new contributions to the fund will be directed toward those who, as a byproduct of protective measures against the coronavirus, are challenged to afford housing, transportation, basic needs and access to required resources for remote learning, or who are facing other unforeseen personal difficulties both in the short term and as they transition back to campus in the fall.

Information on the University’s response to the global coronavirus outbreak is being regularly updated at https://www.mansfield.edu/alerts/coronavirus.cfm.
