The last Mansfield Destroyers home game highlights featured on Home Page Sports was the team’s 13-3 win over the Genesee Rapids on June 27. The Destroyers capitalized on a 6-run 4th inning to beat the Rapids in seven innings. The win improved the Destroyers record to 12-4 on the season and the team led the New York Collegiate Baseball League’s Western Division.

Mansfield has continued racking up wins despite the recent thunderstorms and heavy rain that has forced the team to postpone and reschedule games. This has forced the Destroyers to play their last 15 games on the road or at neutral site locations.

The Destroyers currently have a record of 23-7-1 and are currently in second place in the NYCBL Western Division behind the Hornell Dodgers.

The Destroyers had two NYCBL league leaders for the month of June. Infielder Michael Cervantes led the league with a .429 batting average and 17 runs batted in, and infielder Randall Hein led the league with 15 stolen bases.

Starting pitcher Hunter Kendall also had recent success pitching a shutout in 6 innings with 5 strikeouts in a win over the Genesee Rapids on July 19th.
