Live Helicopter Golf Ball Drop
At approximately 6 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 10, a helicopter will drop golf balls on the 18th hole at the Tyoga Golf Course at 759 Route 660, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
The person who holds the ticket for the ball landing closest to the hole will win $5,000 and a $500 bonus if he or she is present for the ball drop. The ticket holder whose ball drops second closest to the hole will win $1,000 and the one whose ball lands third closest will win $500. There will also be a prize of $250 for the ticket holder whose ball lands furthest from the hole.
Activities for this event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Tyoga Golf Course with live music, putting contests and corn hole, Frisbee and other games for kids and adults to play. Those who want to eat at the Tyoga Bar & Grill can choose items that will be available and dine in the restaurant or on the patio. Pizza, wings, burgers, and a 12-ounce Delmonico with sides will be on the menu.
Tickets are $100 each with a maximum of 400 available for purchase by stopping in at the Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce office at 114 Main Street in Wellsboro weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the Tyoga Golf Course’s Tyoga Bar & Grill restaurant between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, including this Saturday; at the Tyoga Golf Course’s Pro Shop between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily, including this Saturday; or at Penn Oak Realty, sponsor, at 61 Main Street in Wellsboro.
The proceeds from the Ball Drop will benefit Tyoga Inc. and the Wellsboro Foundation, which supports the Pennsylvania State Laurel Festival.
