Limbs down? Tree not looking healthy? Call Jake!

Limbs down? Tree not looking healthy? Call Jake!

by Deb Bastian - July 8, 2022

It’s just part of his family culture, hanging around trees. Jake Myers’ grandfather and father were both loggers and harvested trees for sawmills. Myers is self-taught in climbing trees and has never fallen. Heights did bother him at first, but he has overcome that fear. He likes the adrenaline and the excitement of climbing and working with trees.

During the week Jake is employed full time clearing branches from power lines with a company that is sub-contracted for NYSEG. He also works part time for Arnot Township doing whatever is needed including digging ditches, care for water lines and of course, tree work.

And then, in his free time Myers has his own business, Jake’s Tree Service. He will come to a residential property and offer an honest opinion when there is a tree or trees that need help. Thoroughly insured, he owns his own chipper, tractor, trailer and dump truck. Myers takes pride in always leaving the site clean. He also knows other tree experts who offer him advice when he is faced with unique situations.

What should someone ask when they are in need of help with their trees? Myers said always ask for a visit so that the tree or trees in question can be thoroughly examined. Does the opinion of care seem reasonable? Make sure the person or persons who would be on site are thoroughly insured. Be sure to ask for references.

Need some help with your trees? Give Jake Myers a call at 570-463-5178.
