With a passion for rural medicine, Mark Molckovsky, MD has found his perfect fit at the Lawrenceville Laurel Health Center, located at 32 E Lawrence Rd in Lawrenceville.

Join The Homepage Network as they sit down with Dr. Molckovsky to discuss why he chose rural family medicine and his dedication to patient education and preventive care.

Falling in Love with Lawrenceville
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Molckovsky was drawn to the area after falling in love with northcentral PA during his residency. “I have always known I wanted to practice rural medicine, and the values, vision, and leadership of the Laurel Health Centers really resonated with me. Lawrenceville in particular stood out. My wife and I absolutely fell in love with the mountains, the people are so friendly, my co-workers are wonderful, and my drive to work is just beautiful. We’re so happy to be here.”

Where Family Medicine Runs in the Family:
Dr. Molckovsky first knew he wanted to be a doctor watching his father practice family medicine. “Like many young men, I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps. He always encouraged me to follow my dreams, and I chose family medicine because it’s the frontline of healthcare,” he explains.

“I have a young family, and I want to be where I can help families the most. I feel rural family medicine is where I can make the biggest positive impact in serving my community.”

A Passion for Prevention
When it comes to practicing medicine, Dr. Molckovsky places emphasis on patient education and prevention. “At the Laurel Health Centers, we put patients first, and the most important aspect to me in medicine is prevention. As the saying goes, ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,’ and I want to prevent disease before it happens wherever possible so that my patients can live happier, healthier lives,” says Dr. Molckovsky.

“Patient education is key to understanding one’s own health risks and treatment options—I want my patients to understand why I’m recommending something and feel empowered to become stewards of their own care.”

Dr. Molckovsky earned his medical degree from St. George’s School of Medicine and completed his residency at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College as part of Penn State Health. He is a University of Toronto National Scholar and has been awarded the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award for outstanding academic achievement.
Dr. Molckovsky is currently accepting new patients of all ages. To make an appointment with Dr. Molckovsky, call 570-827-0125.
